Former first round draft pick Montez Sweat starts off Week 2 of NFL action on Thursday night as he and the Washington Football Team host the New York Giants.
Sweat was one of four former Mississippi State defensive linemen that combined for five sacks on opening weekend.
Sweat, however, is not the only former Bulldog that will play in primetime this week. Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs invade Baltimore to take on Pernell McPhee and the Ravens on Sunday night.
MSU will also be well represented on Monday Night Football as the Green Bay Packers welcome the Detroit Lions to Lambeau Field. The Packers feature five former Bulldogs on their roster: long snapper Hunter Bradley, running back Kylin Hill, offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins and linebackers Chauncey Rivers and Preston Smith.
The only other head-to-head game between former Bulldogs this week is Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CT when the Tennessee Titans defensive line tandem of Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons travel to the Seattle Seahawks to battle offensive guard Gabe Jackson.
Most of Mississippi State's alums will be on the road this week with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys traveling to Los Angles to face the Chargers. Jonathan Abram and K.J. Wright of the Las Vegas Raiders will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers. J.T. Gray's New Orleans Saints take on the Carolina Panthers, and Cameron Dantzler and the Minnesota Vikings will play at the Arizona.
Logan Cooke is one of a handful of former Bulldogs at home this week as the Jacksonville Jaguars host the Denver Broncos.
Tyre Phillips, who started left guard for the Ravens in the opener, was placed on short term injured reserve after leaving in the second quarter last week. Phillips joins Willie Gay Jr. (Chiefs) and Will Redmond (Packers) as former MSU players currently on injured reserve.
