Malebranche Honored For Academics

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Mississippi State soccer's Kristen Malebranche has been named a member of CoSIDA's Academic All-District Team for District 6, the organization announced Thursday.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District Soccer Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Â
Malebranche graduated with her degree in biochemistry in December of 2020. She now works for a biopharmaceutical company in Maryland.Â

In the summer of 2020, she was a part of the REU summer program at Mississippi State, where she worked full-time in a polymer synthesis lab creating a high-performance material that would be used on airplanes and the like.Â
Â
Malebranche is the first Bulldog of Mississippi State soccer to ever earn this honor.
Â
All student-athletes named Academic All-District will advance to the CoSIDA All-America ballot. Honorees will be announced in early July and will be named first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America.
