Bulldog Trio Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's Carter Spexarth, Mia Davidson and Fa Leilua have been named to the NFCA's All-South Region teams. Spexarth was selected as the First Team DP while Davidson and Leilua were named to the third team.
The award is the first honor of Spexarth's career. She has started all 56 of State's games and ranks second on the team with a .333 batting average and 39 RBIs. The Woodlands, Texas, native also leads the team in hits (57) and game-winning RBIs (9).
Davidson earned her third consecutive All-Region honor, all as a catcher. She has now played every infield position in her career, adding shortstop, second base and first base this season. Davidson leads the team in runs (40) and total bases (112).
Leilua has started every game at first base for MSU and leads the team in batting average (.340), slugging percentage (.718), on-base percentage (.483), RBIs (45), home runs (18) and total bases (112). The honor is Leilua's second. Both Leilua and Davidson were named All-Americans in 2019.
Mississippi State has now seen three players earn All-Region honors for the third straight season (2018, 2019). The Bulldogs have had three honorees in four of the last five years that awards have been given.
State opens play at the NCAA Stillwater Regional on Friday, May 21 against Boston University. The regional is hosted by No. 5 Oklahoma State and includes Campbell as well.
