Men’s Hoops Hosts Minnesota on December 5

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State men's basketball team revealed the first piece of its 2021-22 schedule as the Bulldogs will begin a home-and-home series against Minnesota on Sunday, December 5th at Humphrey Coliseum announced Wednesday.
The Bulldogs and Golden Gophers will meet over the next two seasons with a return matchup at Williams Arena in Minneapolis scheduled for 2022-23 on a date to be determined. Tip time and television network assignment for this season's matchup will be announced at a later date.
The Mississippi State Athletic Ticket Office is on-sale with 2021-22 season tickets. New season ticket purchasers can call (662) 325-2600 or visit www.HailState.com for more information. Current season ticket holders will receive a renewal notice in late June from MSU's Athletic Ticket Office.
Minnesota is led by first-year coach Ben Johnson. Most recently, the Gophers made NCAA Tournament trips during the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons. The two programs have yet to face each other in basketball. Most recently, Mississippi State squared off with Nebraska and Penn State from the Big Ten Conference during the 2018 NIT.
Mississippi State captured a runner-up finish at the 2021 NIT as the Bulldogs earned a bid in postseason play for the third consecutive time when postseason tournaments have been played. State won seven of its last 10 games, highlighted by a combined five NCAA NET Quad 1 and Quad 2 victories down the stretch.
