Levi Earns Top-5 Finish, Lifts State to Match Play at SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Mississippi State women's golf earned its way to SEC Championship match play after two under-par rounds and an even final round at Greystone Golf & Country Club.

The Bulldogs finished 15-under par and tied for 5th place, with the help of a 13-under par first round, which tied for the second-lowest round in program history and marked the best opening round ever for the Bulldogs.

MSU begins match play on Saturday morning at 7:50 a.m. in the quarterfinals against No. 4 seed Ole Miss. The semifinals will be held Saturday afternoon to determine the finalists for Sunday's championship match.

"One thing that we've really been looking for is a full 54-hole completion," MSU head coach Charlie Ewing said. "That's what is required to earn a tee time in match play. We did the best job this week that we've done all season. I think that's a testament to the successes and failures we endured through the semester. I thought everyone did a really good job of showing maturity and growth."

Hannah Levi paced the Bulldogs with her third under-par round of the SEC Championship (68). She shot a strong 11-under par for the event, tying her for fifth place. Levi's score was tied for third-best finish in program history, and it marked the best performance by a Bulldog ever at the SEC Championships.

To tie for 23rd, sophomore Abbey Daniel shot 2-over (74) in the final round, 5-under for the event. This is Daniel's fifth Top-25 finish of her career. Blair Stockett shot 4-over par (76) in the final round to tie for 41st.

Clara Moyano shot her best round of the event, 1-under (71) to finish tied for 50th after rolling in four birdies, while Ashley Gilliam rounded out the Bulldogs in 54th.
