Ado Collects SEC Community Service Team Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Mississippi State's Abdul Ado was named to the 2021 SEC Community Service Team announced Thursday by the league office.
Ado is the fourth player in program history to secure the SEC award on multiple occasions. The list includes Timmy Bowers (2003, 2004), Barry Stewart (2009, 2010) and Tyson Cunningham (2013, 2014).
Ado participated in numerous community outreach initiatives during his time in the Maroon and White. He spent a great amount of time impacting the youth in the area at various summer camps, most notably the Palmer Home for Children Summer Camp and Camp Rising Sun.
At the Palmer Home for Children Summer Camp, Ado spent the day teaching and playing basketball with the foster kids that resided at the Palmer Home in Columbus, Mississippi. The Nigeria native graduated in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies.
Mississippi State concludes the regular season with a trip to the Plains and Auburn on Saturday. Tip time is on-tap for 12 p.m. CT from Auburn Arena, televised by SEC Network and available online courtesy of the Watch ESPN app.
