STARKVILLE – Dak Prescott was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time in his career this week.
The former Mississippi State and current Dallas Cowboys quarterback completed 28 of 39 passes for 330 yards and four touchdowns in only three quarters of play in a win over Washington. During that game, Prescott became the first QB in NFL history to throw a touchdown to a running back, tight end, wide receiver and offensive lineman in the same contest.
It was Prescott's 42nd career multi-touchdown game passing Don Meredith for the fifth-most in franchise history.
Logan Cooke continued his strong season with a 59-yard punt for the Jaguars. His 43.1 yard net punting average this season is the most in NFL history since that stat started being tracked in 1976.
Only one of Cooke's 64 punts this season has been for a touchback. Unfortunately, Cooke's season came to an end as he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury on Tuesday.
Johnathan Abram also saw his stellar campaign come to a close after suffering a shoulder injury in the Raiders' win at Cleveland.
Defensively, former Bulldogs Denico Autry and Preston Smith picked up sacks in Week 16.
For Autry, it was his third straight game with a sack for the Titans. He now has eight sacks this season and 38.5 for his career. It was also Smith's eighth sack of the season and now has 48.5 for his career.
Smith also added a tackle for loss for Green Bay. The Eagles' defensive duo of Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay also had stops behind the line of scrimmage. Cox had a pair of tackles for loss and Slay had one TFL and is Philadelphia's highest-graded defender at 83.6 for the season.
Braxton Hoyett also had a tackle for loss in his first game of the season for the Saints. Will Redmond also saw his first action of the year for Indianapolis.
