December 23, 2021 | Football
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State placed three alumni on the Pro Bowl roster this year and all three will be in action in Week 16.
Philadelphia's Darius Slay was named to his fourth Pro Bowl while Kansas City's Chris Jones was selected to his third straight Pro Bowl appearance. J.T. Gray of New Orleans earned his first Pro Bowl nod.
Slay will join Eagles' teammate Fletcher Cox, a former Pro Bowler in his own right, at noon on Sunday as they take on Benardrick McKinney and the Giants. Jones teams up with Chiefs' linebacker Willie Gay as they host the Steelers on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. while Gray and the Saints host the Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
Denico Autry, Jeffery Simmons and the Tennessee will start the week off on Thursday night as they welcome the 49ers to the Music City.
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys will also be in primetime this week as they host rival Washington and defensive end Montez Sweat on Sunday Night Football. The Cowboys won the previous matchup 27-20 in Washington two weeks ago.
Preston Smith and the Packers will be playing on Christmas Day as they host Cleveland at 3:30 p.m.
In other noon games slated for Sunday, Cameron Dantzler and the Vikings welcome the Chargers while Logan Cooke and Jacksonville visits the Jets. Tyre Phillips and Baltimore will also play at the Bengals but the Ravens will still be without linebacker Pernell McPhee.
McPhee was activated from injured reserve but was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Tuesday.
In Sunday afternoon action, Gabe Jackson and Seattle will host the Bears at 3:05 p.m. and Johnathan Abram, K.J. Wright and the Raiders welcome Denver to The Entertainment Capital of the World at 3:25 p.m.
Abram is not expected to play after suffering a left shoulder injury last week but remained on the Raiders' active roster as of Thursday afternoon.
In addition to Braxton Hoyett and Isaiah Zuber joining the Saints and Jets practice squads this week, Deion "Shaq" Calhoun recently signed to Washington's practice squad while Will Redmond was added to the Colts' practice squad.
