No. 17 Mississippi State and Arkansas are both fighting for bowl eligibility entering Saturday's game with identical 5-3 records.

- Mississippi State is the only team in the country that has claimed three wins over teams currently ranked in the top 25.
- In last week's win over then No. 12 Kentucky, Will Rogers broke the Southeastern Conference single-game completion record connecting on 36 of 39 passes (92.3 percent). Rogers finished one attempt shy of qualifying for the FBS record.
- Rogers is the NCAA's active leader in career completion percentage (72.5) and career completions per game (33.3).
- Rogers leads the nation in completion percentage (75.2) and completions per game (40.9) and also tops the SEC in passing yards (2,890), passing yards per game (361.2) and total offense (353.1).
