STARKVILLE – One of the most highly anticipated games of the NFL season takes place today and features former Mississippi State players on both sidelines.
Dak Prescott and the DallasCowboys travel to Kansas City to take on the defending AFC Champion Chiefs featuring Chris Jones and Willie Gay Jr. Both teams currently lead their respective divisions.
That game is slated for a 3:25 p.m. kickoff on Fox.
There are two other head-to-head matchups between Bulldogs on tap today. The Philadelphia Eagles and defensive standouts Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay start the day by hosting J.T. Gray and the New Orleans Saints.
Meanwhile, Cameron Dantzler and the Minnesota Vikings welcome the Green Bay Packers to town which includes Elgton Jenkins and Preston Smith.
Both of those games are slated for noon starts on Fox.
The Tennessee Titans tandem of Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons also start at noon hosting the Texans while Logan Cooke and the Jacksonville Jaguars bring in the 49ers. Pernell McPhee and Tyre Phillips play the visiting role as the Ravens take on the "Monsters of the Midway" in Chicago at 12 p.m.
Later in the afternoon, Johnathan Abram, K.J. Wright and the Las Vegas Raiders will battle the Bengals at 3:05 while Gabe Jackson and the Seattle Seahawks host Arizona at 3:25.
MSU will also be in the Monday Night Football spotlight this week as Benardrick McKinney and the New York Giants travel to the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Starkville's own, Kobe Jones, was signed to the Dolphins' practice squad this week to help Miami prepare for its road trip to take on the Jets. Deion "Shaq" Calhoun, Dareuan Parker and Isaiah Zuber were released from their respective practice squads.
