The Lowdown On Leach Shaking A Leg

Mike Leach’s dance moves went viral following MSU’s win at Auburn on Saturday.
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach is known for high-octane offenses and pirates. He's never been known as a dancer. At least not until last Saturday.
Surely by now you've seen it. After MSU erased a 25-point deficit to top No. 17 Auburn 43-34, video of Leach celebrating with his players quickly spread online.
There was some arm waving. There was a little bouncing.
So what's the backstory? How did the Air Raid orchestrator get to shaking a leg in the locker room? Leach explained on Monday in his weekly press conference.
"You caught a weak seven seconds on my part where I walked into that locker room," Leach said. "Of course a bunch of our players love to dance, and the music was going. They tried to get me to do it. I was afraid they might dump something over my head if I didn't, like water or worst of all Gatorade, so I figured I better comply, which I did."
So the dancing began, all captured with cell phone cameras that'd soon spread the moment.
"I threw my arms up in the air a little bit, just to let them know that I was really giving it a good try," Leach said. "I started out just trying to walk in place, and that was clearly not satisfactory with them. When that wasn't satisfactory with my captors, I tried to bring the knees up a little higher. I got the hands up to try to finish the deal off, and I do think I outdid Elaine on Seinfeld. As soon as I thought I was safe to stop, I did and let them have a great time."
Not long after a smiling Leach took off his dancing shoes, his moves were being seen around the world. Since, tens of thousands of people have viewed the clips. Leach's dancing was a hit. So surely we'll see some more of it in the future, right Coach?
"I wouldn't count on a lot of dancing," Leach said. "To be honest, I hate dancing."
