Head Coach Charlie Ewing Inks His First Signee Izzy Pellot on National Signing Day

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State head coach Charlie Ewing announced the signing of Izzy Pellot on Wednesday. Pellot is the very first signee for head coach Charlie Ewing and assistant coach Lauren Whyte at Mississippi State.
"It is really special for Izzy [Pellot] to be in the first signing class for myself and Coach Lauren [Whyte]," head coach Charlie Ewing said. "She will forever be the first player that I signed as the head coach here at Mississippi State University. That will always be really special."
Izzy Pellot hails from Altamonte Springs, Florida by way of Lake Mary High School. A 2022 graduate, Pellot has accomplished many things during her high school career. Pellot is a senior captain for Lake Mary High School and won the state title her freshman year. Individually, Pellot has a pair of top-three finishes in previous state championships. In 2020, Pellot won the Vaughn Taylor Championship junior golf title.
In the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Rolex rankings, Pellot is currently ranked 114th. At the age of 12, Pellot qualified for two AJGA events and won an AJGA Open at Bay Hill in 2017. In five AJGA events, Pellot has recorded seven rounds of par or better with three top-20 finishes. In the Rolex Tournament of Champions in 2020, Pellot finished ninth with a score of 287. In April, Pellot competed in the AJGA Junior Championship and finished tied for fifth.
"As far as what Izzy brings to the table, she is someone that we are very excited about," Ewing continued. "She is a very accomplished and talented player at the junior level. She has won and been in very big tournaments. The talent is there. That is not anything that we are questioning. She is someone that has amazing leadership qualities. She is an incredible player."
