STARKVILLE – Several former Mississippi State standouts continued to make headlines in Week 4 of NFL action.
Montez Sweat recorded his 19th career sack and second of the season in Washington's win at the Falcons. Sweat now holds the franchise record for the most hits on a quarterback through a player's first 36 games and ranks second among the 2019 draft class with 22 tackles for loss.
Denico Autry had a pair of stops behind the line of scrimmage for Tennessee, one of which was for a 3-yard loss on the goal line in overtime against the Chargers.
Darius Slay posted Philadelphia's top defensive grade against the Chiefs according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). Slay finished that contest with five tackles and has the most passes defended (111) since he entered the league in 2013.
Another former MSU cornerback, Cameron Dantzler, had Minnesota's third-best defensive grade and led the Vikings with an 89.7 grade against the run. Dantzler recorded five tackles and broke up a pass against the Browns last week.
But it wasn't just a week for defensive players to shine. Logan Cooke continues to lead the NFL in net punt average (45.7) and ranks second in total punt yards (996). Cooke had a 45.8-yard average for Jacksonville last weekend with a long of 57.
Dak Prescott looks like a shoe in for Comeback Player of the Year in the early stages of the season, having led the Cowboys to their third consecutive victory. Prescott tossed four touchdowns in a 36-28 win over Carolina and had a 35-yard TD pass and a 21-yard run, both of which were season highs.
It was the fifth career game for Prescott to have at least four touchdowns and his 21st game with three or more TDs.
In his fourth game with Seattle, Gabe Jackson had the Seahawks' highest pass blocking grade (86.8) against San Francisco, which ranked third in all of the NFL last week.
