#FromStateToSundays: Week 6 Update
October 19, 2021 | Football
STARKVILLE – The Monday Night Football stage was not too bright for former Mississippi State standout Jeffery Simmons.
With the Tennessee Titans clinging to a 34-31 lead with only 22-seconds remaining, Simmons stuffed the Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen for no gain on a quarterback sneak facing 4th-and-1 from the 3-yard line.
It wasn't the only big play Simmons had during the fourth quarter. He also added a sack and finished the game with five total tackles and two quarterback hurries.
Simmons' defensive line teammate, Denico Autry, posted the Titans' top pass rush grade against the Bills and also had the team's second-highest overall defensive grade according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Johnathan Abram capped Las Vegas Raiders' 34-24 win over the Denver Broncos with his first interception of the season.
Dak Prescott helped the Dallas Cowboys claim their fifth consecutive win. Prescott tossed a game-winning 35-yard touchdown in overtime to beat the New England Patriots. It was the fourth straight game that Prescott has thrown at least three TDs and the 23rd time he has done so in his career.
Prescott completed 36 of 51 passes for 445 yards and three touchdowns against the Patriots, marking his ninth career 400-yard passing game which ties him with Eli Manning and Aaron Rogers for the eighth-most in NFL history. His 445 passing yards were also the most ever allowed by New England under Bill Belichick.
Green Bay picked up its fifth straight victory as well. The Packers' offensive line also received a boost with the return of Elgton Jenkins to the lineup at left tackle after an injury. Jenkins played every snap against the Chicago Bears this past weekend.
Another offensive lineman returning from injury was Tyree Phillips. Phillips suited up for the first time this season for the Baltimore Ravens.
Gabe Jackson also represented the Bulldogs' O-line alumni well this past weekend. Jackson played every snap for the Seattle Seahawks and did not allow a single pressure. His pass blocking grade of 88.3 was the third-highest in the NFL in Week 6.
Logan Cooke averaged 38 yards per punt in London last week. The Jacksonville Jaguars' punter ranks third in the NFL with a 44.1 yard net punt average this season.
