Magnolia Cup To Be Televised Nationally

STARKVILLE – The Southeastern Conference and the SEC Network have selected Mississippi State's match with Ole Miss on Oct. 28 to be nationally televised. The kickoff time has been moved to 7 p.m. CT to accommodate the change.

The Magnolia Cup has been contested in all but one season since the trophy was created in 2003. MSU currently holds the cup after defeating Ole Miss, 1-0, in Oxford last season.

The rivalry dates back to both programs' inaugural seasons in 1995. State's first SEC victory in program history came in Oxford that season. The two teams have met twice in the postseason, with the Rebels claiming 2-1 victories in both SEC Tournament meetings.

State is 4-5-3 at home against Ole Miss. The Magnolia Cup will be MSU's fourth nationally-televised game of the year. State is 1-1 in televised matches so far with a loss at then-No. 6 LSU and a victory at home over Kentucky. MSU's penultimate home match against Texas A&M on Oct. 21 will also air on the SEC Network.

In addition to awarding the Magnolia Cup, MSU will recognize its senior class on Oct. 28.
