The postseason push in the AFC features four Bulldogs fighting for final spots on Sunday.
STARKVILLE – Five former Bulldogs are hunting for a spot in the NFL Playoffs as the 2020 season comes to a close on Sunday.
Jeffery Simmons (TEN), Tyre Phillips (BAL), Pernell McPhee (BAL) and Denico Autry (IND) are among five teams fighting for the last four berths from the AFC. On the NFC side of things, Montez Sweat and the Washington Football team enter their final game holding onto the No. 4 seed.
For the Titans and Ravens, it's simple, win and you're in. Baltimore kicks off at Cincinnati at 12 p.m. CT on CBS. Tennessee's matchup at Houston is set for 3:25 p.m. on CBS.
Both squads would also make the playoffs if Indianapolis loses. Autry's Colts can clinch a division title with a win or tie coupled with a Tennessee loss. Indy needs help in all scenarios however to make the postseason. With a win, the Colts are looking Baltimore, Cleveland or Miami to either lose or tie. If any of those three teams lose, a tie would be enough for Indianapolis, which hosts the Jaguars in a 3:25 p.m. contest on CBS.
Washington and Sweat simply need a win to claim the NFC East title. Should they tie today, the franchise can still make the playoffs with a Dallas loss. Sweat's team travels to Philadelphia for Sunday Night Football on NBC with kickoff set for 7:20 p.m.
Kansas City has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC, but Willie Gay Jr., Chris Jones and Martinas Rankin will host the Chargers at 3:25 p.m. on FOX. Three more Bulldogs have clinched playoff berths in the NFC by winning division titles.
K.J. Wright and the Seattle Seahawks won the West division and travel to San Francisco at 3:25 p.m. on FOX. Other viewers may see J.T. Gray and the South division champion Saints in the same broadcast window against Carolina. The NFC North champion Packers and their quartet of Bulldogs are another option in FOX's afternoon window as they take on Chicago.
