
MSU Men’s Tennis Lands Top Tier Recruit In Bosnia’s Malesevic

STARKVILLE – The 2020 tennis season may be underway for the Mississippi State men's tennis team, but that has not stopped the recruitment process for the next generation of Bulldogs. Joining the Bulldogs for the 2020-21 season will be rising Bosnian tennis sensation Nemanja Malesevic, MSU head coach Matt Roberts announced Wednesday.
"We are extremely excited to have Nemanja join our program in the fall of 2020," Roberts said, "He is incredibly motivated to becoming a successful professional tennis player, and he will have a great impact on our program and team culture during his time with us as a part of the Bulldog family."
Malesevic In The Rankings:
A native of Banja Luka, Bosnia, Malesevic has earned a UTR ranking of 13.43 as well as having reached a career-high rank of 1492 in the ATP singles rankings in 2020. He also boasts a career high ranking of 727 in 2020 in the ATP doubles rankings. He has recorded an ITF Junior ranking as high as 77 thus far in 2020.
Malesevic's Tournament Highlights:
Malesevic has recorded a couple of notable titles in his young career so far. He claimed the singles title of the Gladbeck, Germany, Grade 2 Junior ITF event in August 2019. In addition, he won the doubles title in the Zlatibor, Serbia, 15k in September 2019.
In addition, Malesevic has had impressive runs at other events as well. He was singles quarterfinalist of the Junior European Championships in July 2019 in Klosters, Switzerland, and also advanced to the doubles semifinals in the Banja Luka, Bosnia, 80k Challenger in September 2019.
