#FromStateToSundays: Week 11 Preview
November 19, 2020 | Football
STARKVILLE – The longest-tenured active Bulldog in the NFL will take center stage on Thursday Night Football when linebacker K.J. Wright and the Seattle Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals.
Â
Wright, who leads all active former Mississippi State student-athletes in career games in the NFL, will kick off the 138th contest of his professional career at 7:20 p.m. CT on FOX/NFL Network. He ranks second on the Seahawks in both tackles (48) and pass defenses (7).
Â
On Sunday, two of the top defenses in the league will go head-to-head as division leaders Indianapolis and Green Bay meet at 3:25 p.m. on FOX. That matchup will see five Bulldogs take the field. Denico Autry has been a huge contributor to the Colts' NFL-leading defense with a team-high 6.0 sacks.
Â
Blocking Autry will be a challenge for Packers' guard Elgton Jenkins who has allowed just one hurry over his last 205 snaps. The Packers also feature long snapper Hunter Bradley, safety Will Redmond and linebacker Preston Smith.
Â
Sunday Night Football on NBC puts four Bulldogs on the same field when the Las Vegas Raiders host the Kansas City Chiefs. Raiders guard Gabe Jackson will be tasked with blocking Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones who has amassed 17 quarterback hits and 5.5 sacks this season on his way to the No. 10 pass rush grade in the league.
Â
On the defensive side of the ball Jones is joined by Kansas City linebacker Willie Gay Jr. and Las Vegas safety Johnathan Abram.
Â
In all, 18 former Bulldogs are expected be active in Week 11. The final head-to-head matchup is an early kickoff at noon on Sunday. Jeffery Simmons and the Tennessee Titans go on the road to meet Pernell McPhee and the Baltimore Ravens on CBS. McPhee is coming off a week that saw him post the fourth-highest overall defensive grade in the NFL against the New England Patriots.
