STARVKILLE – Mississippi State Athletics has received capacity guidelines and designed a socially distanced seating plan to host fans in the healthiest manner possible for the upcoming 2020-21 men's and women's basketball season at Humphrey Coliseum, announced Monday.
The plan is focused on the recommended health and safety protocols put in place by health officials from the Mississippi State Department of Health, Mississippi State University, the city of Starkville, the Southeastern Conference and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to protect the well-being of all student-athletes, fans and staff.
Mississippi State Athletics appreciates the patience and understanding of its season ticket holders and fans as we continue to work through the 2020-21 seating process.
Capacity at Humphrey Coliseum for the 2020-21 season will be 25 percent as determined by the Governor's most recent Executive Order.
All fans will be required to wear a face covering, face shield or mask, over the nose and mouth during all times except when eating or drinking while inside Humphrey Coliseum.
Fans will notice a different on-court setup at Humphrey Coliseum this season, as MSU Athletics will implement additional physical distancing requirements to create clear separation between the court area and spectator seating.
Mississippi State's ticket plan includes a number of new measures to promote a healthy gameday experience. As a result, the distanced seating plan will require a temporary reseating of the arena for the 2020-21 season.
Mississippi State's Ticket Office is currently working on assigning seats to season ticket holders in Bulldog Club rank order and will notify fans via email directly of their temporary seat location in the coming days. Season ticket holders are encouraged to regularly monitor their email accounts for additional updates leading into the 2020-21 season.
In order to maximize opportunities for seats and maintain appropriate distancing inside Humphrey Coliseum, there will be a limit of four (4) seats assigned at priority for each account. Any additional seats will be assigned at the end of the process in another location inside the arena.
Mississippi State Athletics plans to accommodate as many season ticket accounts as possible. Fans will have the opportunity opt out of 2020-21 season tickets if desired and will have the ability to renew their season tickets at their original seat location(s) for the 2021-22 season, regardless of whether they receive tickets or not this season.
A portion of MSU's student-athlete and staff family seating will be located in the lower level. By SEC rule, an allotment of visiting team seating also must be located in the lower level.
Mississippi State students will remain in their lower level seats. Details in regards to student ticketing will be communicated at a later date once those plans are finalized.
Mississippi State Athletics will share further details about health and safety measures, mobile ticketing and parking details in addition to various opportunities for season ticket holders to continue to support the Bulldogs, regardless of their attendance at games in the coming weeks.
