Dak Prescott sets NFL record, joins Joe Montana on NFL career leaderboard
STARKVILLE – Dak Prescott's record-setting 2020 continued in Week 4. In Week 2, Prescott became the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for 400 yards and record three rushing touchdowns in a single game. Against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, he became the first player in NFL history to throw for 450 yards in three straight games.
Â
Despite coming up short in a 49-38 loss, Prescott threw for 502 yards, marking the second 500-yard performance by a Cowboys quarterback in franchise history (Tony Romo in 2013). The former Mississippi State standout now boasts seven 400-yard passing games in his career, which is tied with Joe Montana and Warren Moon for 11th in NFL history.
Â
Defensively, a pair of veteran linebackers made big impacts. K.J. Wright was the highest-graded defender in the Seahawks-Dolphins game and tied for the No. 12 overall grade (90.0) in the league this week while making eight tackles. Bernardrick McKinney is now tied for fifth in the NFL with 38 total tackles this season after posting double-digit tackles for the third consecutive game. It marked the first time in his career that McKinney had three straight double-digit tackling performances.
Â
Darius Slay was Philadelphia's top-graded defender this weekend, and made a crucial pass defense in the end zone on the final play of the game to hold onto a five-point victory. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. made his first career start for Kansas City and posted an 82.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, which ranked third among Chiefs defenders.
Â
Tight end Jordan Thomas found the end zone for the first time since the 2018 season on a three-yard touchdown reception. Rookie receiver Isaiah Zuber was active for the second straight week with New England and had one carry.
