STARKVILLE – Bulldog rookies put up strong performances in Week 6 of NFL action. Meanwhile, a pair of second-year players and a pair of defensive veterans also garnered attention.
Third-round pick Cameron Dantzler finished with a career-high 11 tackles for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Nine of those were solo tackles. His previous high was five total tackles. Dantzler also recorded the first two tackles for loss of his career, both on designed runs for a combined loss of seven yards.
Second-round selection Willie Gay Jr. graded out at 75.7 overall according to Pro Football Focus, which ranked third among Kansas City defenders. Offensively, Tyre Phillips continues to hold down a starting role on Baltimore's offensive line. Phillips kept a clean pocket for the first time in his career, finishing with a career-best 88.6 pass-blocking grade, which was second on the Ravens.

Elgton Jenkins posted a 91.6 run-blocking grade for Green Bay, which ranked third in the NFL that week. Montez Sweat was Washington's second-highest-graded defender (79.7) and tallied seven total pressures according to PFF.
Chris Jones was the top-graded defensive player in the Kansas City-Buffalo game on Monday afternoon, posting an 86.9 overall grade. He totaled five pressures and posted a 90.1 pass-rush grade. Meanwhile Preston Smith was Green Bay's fourth-highest-graded defender and recorded a hurry and quarterback hit.
