
Former Bulldog Catalina Perez Signs Professional Contract

STARKVILLE – Catalina Perez, Mississippi State's All-American goalkeeper in 2017, has signed a professional contract with ACF Fiorentina in Italy's Serie A.
Perez, a Colombian national, played for her home nation in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and won a gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. She is the third member of the World Cup roster to sign with a Serie A club, joining Yoreli Rincon (Inter Milan) and Lady Andrade (Milan).
In her one season at MSU, Perez posted a 1.00 GAA and six shutouts. She also picked up two assists and registered two shots.
Perez is one of three goalkeepers on Fiorentina's roster. The club is currently second in the Serie A table with 28 points across 12 matches. The league has 10 fixtures remaining.
The Bulldogs are coming off their first SEC Tournament appearance in 15 years and will begin Armstrong's second season at the helm in the fall of 2020. State's spring exhibition slate begins at South Alabama on Feb. 23.
