BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Fresh off his top two career scoring performances against SEC opponents, Reggie Perry has captured SEC Player of the Week accolades announced Monday by the conference office.
For Perry, it marked his third career weekly award from the SEC and first in 2019-20. He was a two-time SEC Freshman of the Week selection last season.
Perry racked up 22.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as Mississippi State ripped off blowout victories over Missouri and Georgia. The last time the Bulldogs posted back-to-back SEC wins of 25-plus points came during the 1946-47 season.
Perry, one of five Power Five players and the only SEC player to average a double-double on the season, knocked down 69.2 percent from the floor and put forth his two best SEC scoring outputs of his career. He amassed 22 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high six assists versus Georgia after he fired in a SEC career-best 23 points and 10 rebounds against Missouri. Perry's 10 double-doubles lead the SEC and his 19 career double-doubles are tops among SEC active players.
