NBA Summer League Starts for Weatherspoon and Holman

STARKVILLE – Quinndary Weatherspoon and Aric Holman will begin their NBA Summer League journeys in the Salt Lake City Summer League and California Classic on Monday.
Weatherspoon will suit up for the San Antonio Spurs in Salt Lake City whereas Holman will play for the Los Angeles Lakers in Sacramento. Both leagues will feature four franchises playing three games over a three-day span in a round-robin format from Monday to Wednesday.
Following the Salt Lake City and Sacramento stops, the NBA Summer League will turn its attention to Las Vegas from July 5-15 where all 30 franchises along with the Chinese and Croatian National Teams will compete. Lamar Peters is anticipated to be named to the New York Knicks roster later this week.
The ESPN family of networks will carry every game from Las Vegas via ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and the WatchESPN app. NBA-TV also will air 40 games of summer league action. Fans can access box scores, game recaps and statistics from www.NBA.com/summerleague.
Weatherspoon was chosen with the 49th pick during the second round of the NBA Draft on June 20, while Holman and Peters inked free agent deals with the Lakers and Knicks, respectively.
Mississippi State posted a 23-11 record last season and secured the program's 11th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs have dialed up 48 victories over the last two seasons which is tied for second-most in program history over a two-year span and fourth among SEC schools.
