STARKVILLE -- Work is underway to update the Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex locker room, which has served as the daily student-athlete home for Mississippi State football since January 2013.
"We are excited about this project and how it will benefit our student-athletes who utilize this space year-round," said Mississippi State Director of Athletics John Cohen. "The upgrades will provide a modern look to our locker room and give our student-athletes a comfortable setting. This project is in line with our vision of providing elite facilities for our student-athletes and coaches at Mississippi State."Â Â Â
A total of 121 new, state-of-the-art player lockers are being constructed featuring custom graphics, illuminated nameplates, enhanced seating, LED lighting, electrical outlets and charging ports. The modernization of the locker room space also includes new carpet, custom wall graphics, fresh paint and LED lighting on the ceilings.
In addition, the player's lounge is receiving an upgrade with new paint, carpet and lighting as well as a new barber shop area. The project will be completed this summer.
Last August, Mississippi State Athletics finished construction on a new 11,100 square-foot gameday locker room in Davis Wade Stadium complete with a new training room and equipment room.
The Leo Seal Jr. Football Complex is an all-encompassing football training and office facility spanning 80,000 square feet. The complex was funded with help by former Bulldog football players - twin brothers Lee and Leo Seal - in honor of their late father Leo Seal Jr. Seal, Jr. was a former Mississippi State football player and long-time Bulldog Club donor.
