STARKVILLE – Mississippi State men's basketball forward Reggie Perry will return to the Bulldogs for his sophomore season.
Perry had the opportunity to showcase his talents at the 2019 NBA Draft Combine, the 2019 NBA G League Elite Camp and several NBA teams in individual workouts over the last month.
An All-SEC Freshman Team and two-time SEC Freshman of the Week selection, Perry came away with a team-leading nine double-doubles and 12 of his 17 performances in double figures versus SEC opponents. He registered 11.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in conference play. The 8.2 rebounds were tops among SEC freshmen and rated third overall.
Perry scored a season-high 21 points to fuel victories at Ole Miss and against South Carolina during February. He buried the go-ahead three-pointer that put the Bulldogs ahead for good at 76-73 inside the final four minutes as part of MSU's first win at Ole Miss since the 2010-11 season.
Mississippi State posted a 23-11 record last season and secured the program's 11th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs have dialed up 48 victories over the last two seasons which is tied for second-most in program history over a two-year span and fourth among SEC schools during that span.
