April 07, 2019 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE — Looking to build some momentum before SEC play begins, the Mississippi State women's golf team will travel to Macon, Georgia, for the Brickyard Collegiate.
The 54-hole tournament will span three days on the par 72, 6,126-yard Brickyard Golf Club course. The action will begin Monday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.
No. 46 Mississippi State will face No. 29 North Carolina, No. 37 Kennesaw State and No. 41 Old Dominion.
"We have put in some hard work as this regular-season winds down," said head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm. "The weather may not cooperate, but we are tough and have prepared for this with the excessive rain of January-March this year. We are determined to compete and play with our purpose. Commit to our process and finish strong."
Junior Ela Grimwood, who placed 19th in the previous tournament, will lead the Bulldogs. She's joined by a host of veterans.
Senior Kendall Wisenbaker will be in this week's lineup. Another senior, Athena Yang will make her spring debut playing as an individual.
Freshman Hannah Levi and Sophomore Blair Stockett will be competing, also. Both will look to improve from their finishes at the Evans Derby Experience.
Sophomore, Aubree Jones will round out the lineup for the Bulldogs. She is returning from a 27th-place finish.
