Bulldogs Travel To Birmingham For SEC Championship

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State women's golf team will compete against thirteen fellow SEC competitors beginning Wednesday in the 2019 SEC Championship in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Greystone Golf Club will host the tournament for the seventh-consecutive year on the par 72, 6,253-yard Legacy Course.
"This team has so much drive," said head coach Ginger Brown-Lemm. "They have worked day in and day out to get better. I believe in them, and we have put ourselves in a position to make it into match play and compete for an SEC Championship."
The event will be the second-consecutive year in which the championship will extend to five days, with match play on Saturday and Sunday. Three rounds of stroke play will occur the opening three rounds of action. The championship match on Sunday will also be televised live on SEC Network.
Junior Ela Grimwood will lead State into stroke play, competing in her third-consecutive SEC Championship.
Sophomores Aubree Jones and Blair Stockett will join the lineup also bringing previous experience from last year's SEC Championship.
Freshmen Hannah Levi and Lauren Miller will complete the roster, competing in their first SEC Championship. Though rookies, both are strong competitors. Levi has competed in all nine regular season tournaments, while Miller has joined her for seven of those events.
