STARKVILLE -- Mississippi State Athletics has launched the "The John Cohen Podcast," which will give listeners unique insight, stories and interviews with successful sports standouts, business leaders and members of the Mississippi State community from the desk of Director of Athletics John Cohen.
The podcast is hosted by the "Voice of the Bulldogs" Neil Price as well as Cohen, who conducts interviews with the special guests. Cohen, an MSU graduate, former student-athlete, head coach and the Bulldogs' 17th athletic director, dives into deep conversations with the guests.
"I have always been fascinated on how successful people get to where they are," Cohen said. "Our goal of this podcast is to provide listeners with a unique perspective on what makes our guests successful, while elaborating on stories of their career journey. In addition, we want to give listeners insight into the many Mississippi State personalities that have gone on to success throughout the world."
Episode I features two of the best players in the NFL in former Bulldog defensive standouts Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay. Cox, a native of Yazoo City, is entering his eighth professional season with the Philadelphia Eagles after becoming a four-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection. The 2011 MSU All-American and All-SEC honoree helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl LII victory.
Slay, arguably the best cornerback in the NFL, is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons with the Detroit Lions. Slay describes his journey from Itawamba Community College to a two-year career at MSU from 2011-12.
