Maroon and White Game Arrives for Bulldogs

STARKVILLE – The second spring under head football coach Joe Moorhead will culminate with the annual Maroon and White Spring Game at 1 p.m. Saturday in Davis Wade Stadium as part of Super Bulldog Weekend. An updated Saturday schedule is available at HailState.com/SBW.
"It's a great opportunity for Mississippi State and our football program to showcase what a wonderful city Starkville is and what a great college setting and college atmosphere this is," Moorhead said of #SBW19 following practice Thursday night. "The passion, the support and the fan base, it's a unique place and there are not a whole lot like it in the country."
The Bulldogs return more than 50 letterwinners from a squad that finished last season ranked No. 25 in the Coaches poll. Several key names are back, including All-SEC performers linebacker Erroll Thompson and cornerback Cameron Dantzler, in addition to running back Kylin Hill and offensive lineman Darryl Williams, who is projected as one of the top lineman in college football in 2019.
"Overall, we want to see us accomplish our spring goals – gain confidence and develop our identity of this year's team," Moorhead said. "We want to dominate situational football and critical statistics, and we'll have an opportunity to do all those things through the course of the game."

Guest Captains
Saturday's guest captains for the game will be Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro defensive end Chris Jones, Houston Texans tight end Jordan Thomas and offensive lineman Martinas Rankin and former NFL running back Michael Haddix.
