Perry Nabs Spots on Naismith Trophy Watch List, All-SEC Coaches First Team

STARKVILLE – The preseason accolades continue to roll in for Mississippi State's Reggie Perry as he captured selections to the Citizen Naismith Trophy List and garnered an All-SEC First-Team pick by the league's coaches announced Monday.
Perry has already tucked away preseason All-America honors from Lindy's, Street & Smith and Athlon Magazines. He also is one of 20 players to secure a spot on the Karl Malone Award Watch List by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame which is given to the nation's top power forward.
Perry is one of a SEC-leading nine players to appear on the Naismith Trophy List. He is joined by fellow All-SEC First Teamers Kerry Blackshear Jr. (Florida), Anthony Edwards (Georgia), Ashton Hagans (Kentucky), Kira Lewis Jr. (Alabama), Skylar Mays (LSU), Andrew Nembhard (Florida) and Breein Tyree (Ole Miss). Tyrese Maxey (Kentucky) also appears on the Naismith List as an All-SEC Second-Team pick.
Perry is a unanimous preseason All-SEC First-Team selection by both the media and coaches. He is coming off a busy offseason where he participated at the NBA Draft Combine and captured MVP honors at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in Greece. He came away with 13.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game as Team USA secured a 7-0 record en route to a gold medal.
Perry was an All-SEC Freshman Team honoree last season. He collected 12 of his 17 performance in double figures versus SEC opponents. Perry registered 11.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in conference play. The 8.2 rebounds were tops among SEC freshmen and rated third overall. He scored a season-high 21 points to fuel victories at Ole Miss and against South Carolina during February.
Mississippi State will carry a SEC-best, 22-game non-conference on-court home winning streak into its regular season opener versus Florida International on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Tipoff is on-tap for 7 p.m. CT at The Hump, and the game will be streamed live by SEC Network+ via the WatchESPN platform.
Mississippi State is offering a pair of new fan-focused season ticket options for the 2019-20 season which includes the addition of general admission seating to men's basketball. A traditional general admission season ticket for seats in designated areas of the 200 level are available for only $155, while reserved seat season tickets are available for $275.
The second offering is a first-of-its-kind mobile access season ticket, the mobile access pass. This new ticketing option will provide exclusive access to already-sold lower level seats during non-conference games inside Humphrey Coliseum, and a 200 level general admission ticket for all conference games.
During non-conference play, fans with the mobile access pass will be digitally delivered a general admission ticket for a designated lower level section each game and will have access to sit in any open seat within that designated section.
