Kylin Hill Nominated for 2019 C Spire Conerly Trophy

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State football junior running back Kylin Hill is one of 10 nominees for the C Spire Conerly Trophy, the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum announced Monday.
The C Spire Conerly Trophy is awarded to the most outstanding college football player in Mississippi. The 10 nominees represent the football-playing universities and colleges across the state and have been chosen by their athletic departments. The winner will be announced Tuesday, December 3, at the Country Club of Jackson.
A combination of votes from the C Spire fan voting and a poll of sports news media representatives determine the winner. Fan voting begins today at 5 p.m. CT and runs through noon on Sunday, December 1. Voters can cast a ballot up to three times per day at http://cspireconerlyvoting.hscampaigns.com/.
An explosive force out of the backfield, Hill leads the SEC with 1,215 rushing yards, which is seventh among Power 5 running backs. He is currently fourth in MSU single-season history and just 176 yards shy of matching the school record. Hill has posted seven 100-yard rushing games this season, including four games with 150 or more yards on the ground.
The Columbus, Mississippi, native has broken 37 runs of 10 or more yards this season, which leads the SEC and is ninth among all FBS players. In 403 career carries, he has never fumbled.
Hill has gone over 200 yards from scrimmage in three games this season, most recently tallying 237 combined yards against Abilene Christian. In that game, he caught a career-long 88-yard touchdown pass, which marked the longest catch in the SEC this year and is tied for the longest reception by an FBS running back.
Past Mississippi State winners of the award include J.J. Johnson (1998), Jerious Norwood (2005), Anthony Dixon (2009), Chris White (2010), Gabe Jackson (2013), Dak Prescott (2014, 2015) and Jeffery Simmons (2019).
