Jones Concludes Cross Country Season at NCAA Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Mississippi State junior Stephen Jones wrapped up his historic cross country season at the NCAA Championship Saturday afternoon at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Jones covered the 10K course in 31:46.5 for an 80th-place finish, the highest by a Bulldog in the men's NCAA Cross Country Championship in school history.
Edwin Kurgat of Iowa State took home the individual championship with a time of 30:32.7. BYU clinched the team title with 109 points as three of their runners finished in the top 20.
Jones will join the Bulldog track and field team in preparations for the 2020 indoor season which begins in January.
