STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State men's basketball team collected a No. 11 preseason ranking announced Tuesday by the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook.
The Bulldogs are one of a nation's best six SEC teams ranked among the publication's top 20 which include Kentucky (1), Tennessee (5), Auburn (8), LSU (18) and Florida (20).
Mississippi State returns its top six scorers who amassed 2,264 points and combined for 83.4 percent of the team's scoring last season. The Bulldogs piled up 25 victories in 2017-18, the fourth-most in program history during a single season, en route to the NIT Final Four.
Mississippi State also learned Tuesday that its matchup with BYU on Dec. 29 will be televised by ESPNU. Tip time is slated for either 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. CT from Humphrey Coliseum and will be announced between 7-10 days prior to tipoff.
The Mississippi State Athletics Ticket Office is selling season tickets for as low as $199. Fans can purchase tickets online at www.HailState.com/Hoops, in person at the MSU Athletics Ticket Office located at the Bryan Athletic Building or via the phone at (662) 325-2600. Information on single-game tickets and mini plans will be announced at a later date by the ticket office.
