Seniors, Joe Moorhead Set For #SECMD18; Watch Live on SEC Network

ATLANTA – A trio of seniors, including the 2018 Mississippi State football offensive and defensive captains, will join first-year Bulldog head coach Joe Moorhead at SEC Football Kickoff Media Day on Wednesday at the College Football Hall of Fame.
Quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, defensive end Gerri Green and safety Mark McLaurin all take their turn at SEC Media Day from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET/8-11:30 a.m. CT. SEC Network will have full coverage throughout the day.
Fitzgerald's day will begin earlier with an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up" at 7:30 a.m. CT. At that same time, Moorhead will join Peter Burns and Marcus Spears on SEC This Morning live on Sirius/XM and SEC Network.
Moorhead, the 2016 and 2017 National Offensive Coordinator of the Year, makes his debut at the podium in the main media room at 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET live on SEC Network.
Fitzgerald, a National Player of the Year candidate, returns from an ankle injury he suffered on Thanksgiving Night in the Egg Bowl. Voted offensive captain by his peers, Fitzgerald has returned to form and will be full go when preseason camp starts for the Bulldogs on August 3.
The Richmond Hill, Ga., native enters his third straight year as the starter, and he is one of only four quarterbacks in SEC history to throw for over 4,400 yards and rush for over 2,400 yards in a career. He enters 2018 with a shot at shattering Tim Tebow's SEC career record for rushing yards by a quarterback. Fitzgerald has tallied 2,486 rushing yards, which is 461 yards shy of Tebow's mark.
Green, who was selected as the 2018 defensive captain by his teammates, has recorded 130 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks in his career. Last season, he ranked third on the team in tackles for loss (11) and was fourth in the SEC in forced fumbles (3). Off the field, the Greenville, Miss., native serves as MSU's representative on the SEC Football Leadership Council. Green is one of 11 fifth-year scholarship seniors on the roster.
McLaurin, a native of Collins, Miss., was State's leading tackler a year ago with 79, and he tied for the SEC lead in interceptions with six. That mark also tied an MSU single-season record. A preseason All-America candidate, McLaurin was named to the Associated Press All-Bowl Team and TaxSlayer Bowl MVP after intercepting Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson a school-record three times in the Bulldogs' 31-27 victory over Louisville. McLaurin became the first FBS player to register three picks in a bowl game since 2010.
