
Women's Golf Signees Sizzle In Summer Events

STARKVILLE, Miss. –While many students are trying to beat the summer heat, a pair of Mississippi State women's golf signees have been burning up the links.
On June 14, incoming freshman Lauren Miller won the Alabama-Northwest Florida Girls Junior PGA Championship. That victory qualified her for the 43rdGirls Junior PGA Championship that will be played July 9-12 at Kearney Hills Golf Links in Lexington, Ky.
Miller earned a spot in the field of 144 of the nation's top junior golfers by claiming a six-shot victory at Timber Creek Golf Club in Daphne, Ala. The Niceville, Fla., native followed a 2-under 70 in her opening round with a 1-over 73 to notch her place in a Junior PGA Championship that has included LPGA players like Cristie Kerr, Inbee Park, Lexi Thompson and Ariya Jutanugarn in previous fields.
Miller opened June playing alongside fellow Bulldog signee Hannah Levi in the America Junior Golf Association's St. Francisville Area Foundation Junior at The Bluffs in St. Francisville, La.
Levi, a D'Iberville, Miss., native, turned in an impressive 10-shot victory with a three-round total of 211. Levi carded back-to-back 71s to open the event before finishing strong with a final-round 69.
Miller fired rounds of 72, 76 and 77 to tie for seventh with a 225.
