
Mississippi State adds to its 2018 signee class with Christian Quinn, who joins MSU after an All-American performance at Florida Southwestern State.
Stuedeman Adds Standout Christian Quinn for 2018-19 Season

STARKVILLE, Miss. – One of the top players on the junior college level will be making the move to the Maroon and White next season as Mississippi State softball head coach Vann Stuedeman announced the addition of junior transfer Christian Quinn on Wednesday.
The Hattiesburg, Miss., native comes to Starkville by way of Florida Southwestern State College, where the outfielder led the Buccaneers to one of the most successful seasons in the program's history.
"Christian comes from a highly regarded junior college coach Robert Iamurri at FSW," Stuedeman said. "She is a Mississippi native and knows what it means to wear Mississippi State across her chest. She's an impressive lady on and off the field and is an athlete in every sense of the word. A fierce competitor, we are thrilled about her arrival in Starkville."
Last season, Quinn helped FSW to its third consecutive Suncoast Conference Championship behind a 53-5 overall record and a 19-1 mark in conference play. The Buccaneers won the District G Championship before taking the FCSAA State Championship for the second straight season. The Bucs also competed in the program's third consecutive NJCAA Division I National Tournament in 2018.
Over her 2018 campaign, Quinn held a .403 mark at the plate with 37 RBIs and 28 stolen bases to earn FCSAA Region 8 First Team All-State and First Team All-Suncoast Conference honors. As a sophomore, she led the Buccaneers in doubles (14) and triples (7), while ranking second in hits (71) and runs scored (59).
Her efforts earned also earned her NFCA NJCAA Division I First Team All-Region and Third Team All-American accolades.
In her first season on the collegiate stage, Quinn held a team-high .456 batting average with 94 hits, 57 RBIs, 10 doubles, 10 triples and a pair of home runs to go along with 17 stolen bases. She was tabbed as the Most Valuable Player of the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament after going 11-for-17 at the plate (.647) with six runs scored, two triples, three RBIs and two bases over the Bucs' state tournament run.
She closed her debut season with numerous accolades, including being selected a NFCA NJCAA Division I Second All-American. She was also tabbed to the NFCA NJCAA Division I All-Region First Team, the FCSAA Region 8 All-State Second Team and the Suncoast Conference All-Conference First Team.
SEC softball is no stranger to the Quinn family. Her older sister Constance Quinn was a four-year letterwinner at LSU.
