
Mississippi State recorded a record 3.01 cumulative grade-point average for the spring semester and the best single-year GPA with a 3.08 for the 2017-18 year.
Mississippi State Posts Record Year In The Classroom

STARKVILLE, Miss. –Mississippi State has not only excelled in competition in 2017-18, but it has also posted a record-setting year in the classroom as well.
The Bulldogs posted the best spring semester grade-point average in department history with a 3.01. It followed a record 3.16 fall cumulative GPA. MSU ended back-to-back semesters with a 3.0 or higher for the first time and notched a program-record 3.08 GPA for the 2017-18 school year.
Mississippi State had 210 student-athletes named to the Bulldog Honor Roll for having a 3.0 or higher spring GPA, including 38 who earned Top Dawg honors for claiming a 4.0.
The Bulldogs' men's programs posted a 2.69 GPA, with men's tennis, who will play later this week in the NCAA Round of 16, leading the way with a 3.70. Men's basketball registered a 2.54, its highest spring GPA in over 20 years.
All seven of MSU's women's teams eclipsed a 3.0 for the spring en route to claiming the highest cumulative spring GPA with a 3.41. Women's tennis led all Bulldog men's and women's sports with a 3.73, while national finalist women's basketball bettered its record fall semester in the classroom with a program-record 3.44 in the spring.
Soccer earned its second-best spring GPA with a 3.55, while the women's track and field student-athletes registered a 3.53 GPA for the semester.
