Bulldogs Travel To Birmingham For SEC Championship

STARKVILLE, Miss. – With a strong finish to the regular season, the Mississippi State women's golf team looks to carry momentum into the postseason for this week's SEC Championships.
MSU is just a few days removed from a 5th-place finish at the Dale McNamara Invitational in Tulsa, where it posted 54-hole 892.
"We have worked hard this year, gotten some required experience for our young squad, and ended the regular season with a Top 5 finish," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "We have seen a lot of positives recently, and we look forward to returning to Greystone in Birmingham for the SEC Championships and applying some of those lessons. We are excited and will fight till our last putt falls. You never know when your best performance will come."
Greystone Golf Club in Birmingham will play host to the event for the sixth-consecutive year.
The 2018 event will mark the first in which the championship will extend to five days, with Match Play on Saturday and Sunday. Three rounds of stroke play will occur the opening three rounds of action. The championship match on Sunday will also be televised live on SEC Network.
MSU will feature a similar lineup as it has all season, as junior Katie Holt heads up the starting five, once again followed by Athena Yang. Blair Stockett, and Aubree Jones will make their first trip to the tournament. Ela Grimwood will round out the five.
