Bulldogs Gear Up for Auburn Tournament

AUBURN, Ala. – In the second and final tournament of March, the Mississippi State women's golf team will travel just beyond the state line to compete in the Evans Derby Experience hosted by Auburn.
The tournament is named for former Auburn head coaches Kim Evans and Virginia Derby Grimes and is set to be played at the Auburn University Club.
Twelve teams make up the field, seven of which hail from the SEC, including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and South Carolina. Duke, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan and Wake Forest make up the rest of the field.
"The Evans Derby Experience is another Top 10 event in the country," MSU coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said. "We look forward to going over and competing against the best in college golf. We are working hard and learning lessons that will pay off in the long run. I always want to play up against the best. It is the only way to challenge yourself, to truly push yourself. Talent, commitment, grit and patience is a wicked combination. I am as excited as I've ever been for the future of our program."
Athena Yang and Clara Moyano will head the line-up for coach Brown-Lemm's squad. Joining the two sophomores will be Ela Grimwood, Aubree Jones and Katie Holt. Kendall Wisenbaker and Blaise Carabello will participate as an individual.
