MSU’s Saturday Contest Versus UMass Lowell Suspended Due to Rain

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Due to rain sweeping through Starkville area, the conclusion of Saturday's contest between No. 23 Mississippi State Bulldogs (19-3) and UMass Lowell (2-9) has been pushed back to 1:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 11.
The game will resume with Mississippi State holding a 5-0 lead in the top of the third with one Riverhawk on first base and one out.
Mississippi State plated a run in the top of the firs with an RBI single by senior Carmen Carter before taking advantage of three walks in the bottom of the second to score four runs off two hits.
In the circle, starting pitcher Emily Williams tossed 2.1 innings before the suspension in play. Williams had allowed one hit and two walks while striking out four.
Following the conclusion of the contest, Mississippi State and UMass Lowell will square off once again at Nusz Park. First pitch will come approximately 30 minutes following the final out of game one.
