STARKVILLE, Miss. - Distance is never a factor as Mitchell Storm goes to great lengths to help others.
His desire to give back to so many has landed him a spot on the 2018 SEC Community Service Team.
"My joy in community service has always been rooted in my desire to show Christ to others through my actions," Storm said. "Whether it be on a mission trip or just walking some students in Starkville to school one morning, I just enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of others."
The Madison, Miss., native represents his university and teammates as a SEC Men's Basketball Leadership Council Representative and as a member on the student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC). He also served others on an 8-day mission trip to Haiti with But God Ministries. During his time in Haiti, he worked in an orphanage, taught English classes and built desks for a local school.
Storm has also participated in Walk to School Day where student-athletes walk local elementary children to their schools in the morning. He is also a volunteer with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama where he works to provide food to the homeless.
Storm is currently working toward a degree in business.
