STARKVILLE, Miss – With heavy rains forecasted throughout Saturday, day two of the Bulldog Kickoff Classic hosted by the Mississippi State softball team has been canceled.

The tournament will resume on Sunday with the Bulldogs (2-0) facing Missouri State (1-1) at 1 p.m. CT before taking on Mississippi Valley State (0-2) at 3 p.m. CT at Nusz Park.

The Bulldogs opened the 2018 Friday afternoon with back-to-back shutout victories behind senior pitchers Holly Ward and Cassady Knudsen, highlighted by Ward tossing just the second perfect game in program history and the first since the 1997 season. Of the 30 outs over Friday's contests, 24 came via the strikeout.
