College is like a roller coaster to MSU senior women's golfer Blaise Carabello. You wait and wait until it is your turn, then you get on, get locked in and begin the ride.
          Â
You experience several steep inclines and challenges. Then you're at the top for a split second and it's right back down you go. You have so many highs and lows, but before you know it, the roller coaster is over, along with your collegiate career.
Â
Carabello's golf career began in high school in her hometown of Houston, Texas. Her mother originally signed her up for golf lessons as a way to get her out of the house, but Carabello took to it.Â
Â
After deciding her sophomore year she wanted to pursue the sport collegiately, Carabello worked extremely hard, and after visiting 12 different schools, she chose to further her career at Mississippi State.
Â
The first challenge came in the form of adjusting to a new culture. She easily adapted and the southern warmth and charm of Starkville, quickly became one of her favorite qualities about her new home.
Â
"Here in Mississippi, or at least in Bulldog country, college sports are everything," Carabello said. "I loved that about it."
Â
Staying healthy has also been a steep incline for her. Carabello's teammates joke and call her "Granny" because she has been with the MSU Women's Golf program for six years.
Â
Being involved with the program for such a unique amount of time has given her an opportunity to earn three degrees and experience so many different phases of MSU Golf.
Â
"I have been on a team when we were ranked No. 1 in the country and like now, I am on a much younger team, but one with an incredible future." she said.
Â
Carabello has been a consistent example of great leadership, work ethic and dedication to the future of the program.
Â
"She has not only been an awesome player, she has been a great example of what it means to truly be a MSU Bulldog," coach Ginger Brown-Lemm said.
Â
Carabello credited each team with bringing a unique and special dynamic to the table, something she is really going to miss.
As she plays the last nine of college career, Carabello can look back and find the positives in many negative situations. Her teammates and the memories she has created will always be  special to her.
Â
"I will always really, really love the girls on my team," she said. "Day-to-day things are just going to be a lot different, after this. I will take the experiences the coaches and MSU has taught me, and always apply them in everyday life."
