
Men’s Hoops Advances in Polls for Third Straight Week

STARKVILLE – After an 11-point victory over Cincinnati to extend its SEC-best winning streak to six straight games, the Mississippi State men's basketball team moved up for a third consecutive week in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches Top 25 polls released Monday.
The Bulldogs are tabbed No. 16 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 and at No. 17 in the AP Top 25. MSU is rated among the AP's Top 25 for the seventh consecutive time and the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 for the sixth straight edition to start a season for the first time since 2004-05.
Mississippi State and Kentucky are the only two schools nationally to be ranked inside the AP Top 25 in football, men's basketball and women's basketball. The Bulldogs and Wildcats are joined by Arizona State, Gonzaga, Iowa, Marquette, Michigan State and Tennessee in both the AP Top 25 basketball polls on the men's and women's side.
Mississippi State is one of four SEC teams ranked which include Tennessee (3 AP, 4 USA Today), Auburn (7 AP, 7 USA Today) and Kentucky (19 AP, 18 USA Today). Florida continues to receive votes in both editions of the polls.

Mississippi State plays host to another 20-win program from 2017-18 in Wofford on Wednesday at Humphrey Coliseum. Tipoff is on-tap for 7 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed online only courtesy of SEC Network + and the WatchESPN app.
The Terriers have won seven of their last eight games highlighted by a 20-point victory at South Carolina (Nov. 26). Wofford's lone setbacks have come versus North Carolina (Nov. 6) along with road matchups at Oklahoma (Nov. 18) and at Kansas (Dec. 4).
