Men’s Hoops Climbs into Top 20 in Both Polls

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State men's basketball team has won a SEC-best five consecutive games and climbed back into the top 20 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches Top 25 polls released Monday.
The Bulldogs check in at No. 17 in the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 and at No. 18 in the AP Top 25. MSU is ranked inside the AP's Top 25 for the sixth straight edition and the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 for the fifth consecutive time to start a season for the first time dating back to 2004-05.
The Bulldogs are joined by Kentucky and Syracuse as the only three schools to be ranked inside the AP Top 25 in football, men's basketball and women's basketball. Those three schools along with Arizona State, Gonzaga, Iowa, Marquette, Michigan State and Tennessee are listed in both the AP Top 25 basketball polls on the men's and women's side.
The Bulldogs continue to be one of four SEC teams ranked in this week's polls which include Tennessee (3 AP, 4 USA), Auburn (8 AP, 8 USA) and Kentucky (19 AP, 18 USA). Florida is receiving votes in both editions of the polls.

Mississippi State welcomes Cincinnati, the defending American Athletic Conference (AAC) champions who receiving votes in both polls, to Humphrey Coliseum on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 pm. CT. The game will be televised by SEC Network and available online courtesy of the WatchESPN app.
