Football Makes Poll Moves to No. 20/22

STARKVILLE – Following its largest victory over Arkansas ever, Mississippi State football jumped in Sunday's weekly polls as the Bulldogs are No. 20 in the Amway Coaches and No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25.
The Bulldogs (7-4, 3-4) are ranked for the 18th time in 20 weeks dating back to last season. All four losses occurred to teams in the current top 20. MSU is one of six SEC ranked teams, joining No. 1 Alabama, No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 LSU, No. 13 Florida and No. 17/18 Kentucky.
State erupted for 52 points in Saturday's win, marking its fourth game of 45 or more points of the year. The Bulldogs defense stymied another opponent. MSU did not allow a rushing touchdown the entire home slate of 2018 and opponents managed only three touchdowns on State in Davis Wade Stadium this season.
MSU will carry a streak of 10 consecutive quarters without allowing a touchdown at home into next season. In addition, the Bulldogs won six or more home games for the third time since 2000 and the first time since going 7-0 in 2014.
Joe Moorhead's Bulldogs enter Egg Bowl week with plenty of momentum and seeking to close the year with victories in four out of their last five games. The 91st Battle for the Golden Egg against Ole Miss kicks off Thanksgiving night at 6:30 p.m. live on ESPN, WatchESPN.com and the ESPN app.
Moorhead's seven wins this season are currently the most by a first-year head coach at State since Jackie Sherrill went 7-5 in 1991.
