TEMPE, Ariz. – Mississippi State women's tennis concluded its second day at Arizona State's 24^th-annual Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Arizona, going 3-2 on the day and 6-3 through two days of play. Saturday's meetings included matchups with athletes from host Arizona State in singles and TCU in doubles.

The new-and-notable Bulldog doubles duo of Emma Antonaki and Anastasia Rentouli made short work of their second contender of the weekend, as they overpowered TCU's Mercedes Aristegui and Kate Paulus 6-2.

Preluding that triumph, four Bulldogs took on players from host Arizona State in singles.

Kicking off the morning for the Bulldogs, Sara Lizariturry, State's fall singles leader, powered past Sammi Hampton of host Arizona State 6-4, 6-4 to earn her 11^th victory this semester.

MSU's 125th-ranked senior captain Rentouli also notched a tough win Saturday in a three-set marathon victory over Tereza Karolova 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

State's sophomore Adaloglou dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Sun Devil Samantha Alicea after missing Friday's action due to illness, while the true freshman Antonaki fell to ASU's 118th-ranked Savannah Slaysman in a three-set effort - 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

State will conclude its fall stretch on Sunday, taking on players from host Arizona State in doubles at 10 a.m. CT and contenders from Washington in singles starting at 2 p.m. CT.
