Jeffery Simmons: Behind The Line

There are 298 cities and towns that make up the state of Mississippi, and of those the overwhelming majority have populations of 3,000 residents or less. The city of Macon, Mississippi, is one such place, and at 3.5 square miles is home to approximately 2,537 according to the 2017 census.

Most who live outside of the Hospitality State have likely never heard of Macon or its encompassing county of Noxubee, and many Mississippians probably only know the area for its championship-winning football team, but no matter where you live, and if you're a fan of football in the United States, you've likely heard of one individual to come out of the area: Jeffery Simmons.
