Two-time All-American Courtney Bures was selected to the 2018 SEC Women's Legends Class.
Courtney Bures Named 2018 SEC Women’s Legend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Courtney Bures, a two-time National Fastptich Coaches Association All-American and a National Pro Fastptich veteran, will represent Mississippi State as part of the 2018 Southeastern Conference Women's Legends class.
The league office unveiled the 14 representatives on Thursday. The class will be honored at the 2018 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament over Feb. 28 through March 4 in Nashville, Tenn. Each legend will be honored during halftime of their teams first game of the tournament. All 14 individuals will also be honored as a group, as well as participate in an autograph session during the tournament.
Bures is one of the greatest infielders in program history, starting 251 career games for the Maroon and White. Over her debut season in 2005, Bures became the first Bulldog crowned SEC Freshman of the Year. She is one of two all-time MSU players to receive NFCA First Team All-American laurels as a freshman. Chelsea Bramlett did so in 2007. Bures added her second First Team All-American honor as a senior in 2008. The infielder is a three-time NFCA All-South Region selection and earned First Team All-SEC laurels three times over her career.
Bures was a member of three Mississippi State NCAA Regional teams and her name still tops the MSU record books. She holds program records for runs batted in (193), sacrifice flies (12) and assists. Bures also boasts MSU single-season records for total bases (158 in 2005) and assists (193 in 2017). The 16th overall pick of the 2008 NPF Draft, Bures went on to play four seasons in the NPF with the Washington Glory (2008), USSSA Pride (2009) and the Akron Racers (2010-211). Bures held a .232 average at the plate with 51 RBIs and 17 home runs over her NPF career before retiring at the end of the 2011 season.
